Election night stuff

- Think what you want, but damn, that guy can give a speech.

- Katie Couric seems, um, not good at her job. I am biased because I've always been a big Jeff Greenfield fan and Katie continually kept interrupting him with completely uninteresting facts her producers were obviously whispering in her ears.

- ABC went straight for the schlock factor during Obama's acceptance speech. Enough with the closeups of teary-eyed Obama supporters. Geesh. And especially no more weird, through-the-crowd shots of sobbing Jesse Jackson and Oprah.

- NBC seemed obsessed with celebrating black people as soon as Obama clinched.

- I can't decide if I am happy Ohio went blue. It was kind of nice to thumb our collective noses at the coasts.

- Was Sarah Palin about to tear up during McCain's speech? Maybe she was just trying to work up the tears and couldn't pull it off.

- While the thing in Chicago was cool, I could not imagine being in the crowd. That's just too many people.

- We now have a socialist/terrorist/Muslim for a President. that's kind of fun.

NBC had a backup piece celebrating really old war veterans and soccer moms.

Katie really not good at her job. Diane Sawyer is my choice.

It might just be my TV but I thought Ohio looked more purple. Probably just that damn HD.

You forgot to mention we are now officially popular with most of the global community save Russia. Chavez can't stop raving about our new leader.

Check that last comment. I read more about Russia. They like us, they really like us. Or it may be more accurate to say they all hate Bush with a passion. Let's just take what we can get.
